Program Description

Integrated behavioral health clinicians and psychologists work in primary care and specialty medicine clinics across UNMH. They provide brief warm handoffs, crisis intervention, and evidence-based best practice psychotherapy interventions to the patients established in those locations. Individuals interested in behavioral health treatment to support their medicine treatment can request to see the Behavioral Health Clinician during a routine office visit. Our clinicians are trained to address all major mental health diagnoses, including but not limited to: PTSD, Major Depression, Generalized Anxiety, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, as well as medical conditions such as pain, insomnia, diabetes management, and adjustment to chronic condition management. The focus of this program is to assist individuals in improving their quality of life and functionality. Individuals looking for long-term, multi-year, supportive psychotherapy would not be appropriate for this program.

Services Provided

  • Brief warm handoff services for same day skills practice, triage, and brief crisis intervention
  • Structured individual psychotherapy with brief episodes of care focusing on improved function
  • Group therapy
  • Recovery-Based aftercare services for those who have completed an Evidence-Based therapy program
