Adult Asthma
Asthma is a chronic disease that causes inflammation in the airways. Symptoms can appear at any time in your life, causing asthma attacks from breathing in allergens.
Make an appointment with a UNM provider if you are over 18 and begin having these symptoms:
- Difficulty breathing
- Dry cough
- Shortness of breath after exercise, or
- Wheezing when exhaling
We can diagnosis your lung condition and develop a long-term plan to manage your symptoms. Our experts provide specialized care for mild to severe cases.
Patients who have poorly controlled asthma, frequent hospitalizations or complex symptoms may benefit from a referral to the Adult Asthma Clinic.
