Ages 18 and above with SMI diagnosis and assigned UNMH or community behavioral health provider
Program Description
The PSR program provides skills-based classes and group programming for clients living with SMI including mental health and/or substance use diagnosis. Working to help clients build a better life through skill building and social and community connectedness, this team develops curriculum-based classes that support self-identified goals for recovery and resilience. They provide support in the following areas: basic living skills, psychosocial skills training, therapeutic socialization, and community engagement. Clients are encouraged to practice the skills they learn outside of the PSR setting.
Services Provided
- Skills-based classes, self-directed goals, strengths-based support in a supportive group setting
- Life skills, self-care, social skills, leisure and recreation, community outings
- Classes are conducted in a 1O:1 ratio (clients/staff)
- All clients must have an assessment completed by their primary behavioral health provider annually to stay eligible for PSR
- Program participation is voluntary
