The Blood Cancers Team at UNM Cancer Center treats all cancers of the blood. The team works closely with the Transplant and Cellular Therapies program and our Inpatient team to offer seamlessly-coordinated care.
Our team of specialists treats all types of blood cancer at any stage. They manage clinical trials, which can give you more options for treatment.
Our Team Providers
These specialists use chemotherapy and targeted therapies to treat
- Blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, and
- Benign blood disorders, such as hemophilia, anemia and clotting disorders.
Our team has worked closely with cancer scientists to pioneer genomic methods for personalized medicine.
These specialists treat blood disorders with radiation therapy, which can be targeted to the whole body or to specific body parts.
Our Nurse Navigator guides you in your treatment and serves as your regular point of contact. They may help you to schedule lab and other tests and understand your treatment and side effects, and they work with the team to ensure that you are prepared for your treatment.
Our APPs work under the guidance of our doctors. They may give you medications or injections, take your medical history, perform medical exams, or perform certain medical procedures.
