The UNM Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute (NCI) - designated cancer center in the state of New Mexico. We are one of only 57 cancer centers in the nation to be designated by the NCI as a comprehensive cancer center, the highest federal designation and rating for cancer centers.

UNM Cancer Center scientists are working diligently every day to discover the causes and cures for cancer. As the state’s only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center and the Official Cancer Center of the State of New Mexico, the UNM Cancer Center is committed to fighting cancer on all fronts.

Colorectal Cancer Prevention Outreach

Part of our mission is to overcome the cancers that affect New Mexicans at a higher rate. New Mexico has low screening rates for colorectal cancer, and screening is the key to preventing colorectal cancer. The UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center offers Colorectal Cancer Prevention webinars to healthcare professionals and the community.
