International Guidelines

International clinical recommendations help parents and professionals make quicker, more accurate evaluations of children who are at a higher-risk for cerebral palsy. These evaluations can ensure that early intervention is taken.

The purpose of these recommendations is to describe how to achieve the earliest diagnosis possible for each child. An international recommendation for the early detection and early diagnosis of cerebral palsy (or high-risk of cerebral palsy) has not previously been available.

Information on early assessment tools and recommended early intervention, are contained in a related but separate, recommendation based on systematic reviews.
