Celebrate Survivors and Support Patients
Wear Pink to the Lobos® Love Pink Game!
The Lobos Love Pink Football game brings our community together to support people facing breast cancer, celebrate survivors, and encourage mammograms. The UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center encourages Lobo fans to wear pink to the game.
The event highlights an essential message for people across New Mexico: regular breast cancer screening saves lives. Mammograms can find breast cancer before symptoms appear, when the tumor is small and treatment is more effective. Early detection improves outcomes and offers more treatment choices, including less invasive options.
Breast cancer risk can be reduced by staying physically active, maintaining a healthy body weight, and breastfeeding. But even people with no risk factors can develop breast cancer, which is why routine mammograms matter. One in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed in her lifetime, and most of us know someone who has been affected. Early detection and advances in breast cancer treatment, including targeted therapies, have enabled many breast cancer patients to beat the disease.
Lobos Love Pink is more than just a gameday tradition; it reminds our community about the importance of regular mammograms. Schedule your mammogram today and Go Lobos!

Get Screened
The UNM Cancer Center encourages you and your loved ones to regularly get screened for cancers of the breast, colon, rectum, cervix, head and neck, and skin. We also offer screening for lung cancer.
