Gary Mlady

Interim President and CEO of the UNM Medical Group

Gary W. Mlady assumed the role of Interim President and CEO of the UNM Medical Group in July of 2023. Dr. Mlady received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Neuroscience from the University of Colorado in 1993, his Medical Degree from Saint Louis University in 1999 and completed his Radiology residency at UNM in 2004. Dr. Mlady joined the Department or Radiology as an Assistant Professor and Chief of Musculoskeletal Radiology, promoted to Associate Professor in 2011 and Professor in 2017. He served as Medical Director of the Department of Radiology from 2009 to 2015 and served as Department Chair from 2015 to 2023. Dr. Mlady served on the UNMMG Board of Directors from 2017 to 2022 and was a member of both the Finance and Operations Committees and Chair of the Operations Committee. Dr. Mlady’s career is devoted to the missions of UNM and to the compassionate, equitable, and accessible care to all New Mexicans and hopes to further that work through service to the UNM Medical Group.
