Patient and Family Advisory Committee

Improve patient safety and quality. We welcome you to join one of the UNM Hospital Patient and Family Advisory Committees (PFAC), representing both our Adult and Pediatric population.

As the only Level 1 Trauma Center in New Mexico, we appreciate feedback from you—the patients and families who rely on us for high-quality healthcare.

Your feedback helps us do our best to meet your needs and the needs of our community. We are confident that PFAC will help make our community stronger and healthier.

Our Objectives

As a member of PFAC, you will help us achieve our goals and objectives. We aim to:

  • Provide equality outcomes along with improved patient, family and healthcare professional engagement and satisfaction

  • Provide continuous feedback to UNM Health that address patient safety, quality of care and patient service issues.
  • Address health disparities and equity in care in an increasing diverse patient population.
  • Strengthen communication and collaboration between patients, families, doctors, nurses and other non-health professional staff
  • Support in establishing UNM Health organizational priorities in response to patient, family and community needs
