Patient Family Advisory Committee

Share your experience, inspire change. Are you passionate about improving patient and family experience? We welcome you to join the UNM Health Patient Family Advisory Committee (PFAC), representing both our Adult and Pediatric population.

The UNM Health PFAC includes UNM Hospital, UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center (SRMC), and UNM Health clinics.

Receiving feedback from the patients and families who rely on us for high-quality health care helps us do our best to meet your needs and the needs of our community. We are confident that PFAC will help make our community stronger and healthier.

Our Objectives

As a member of PFAC, you will help us achieve our goals and objectives. We aim to:

  • Provide quality outcomes along with improved patient, family, and health care professional engagement and experience.
  • Provide safe, quality, collaborative care
  • Promote patient and family engagement to create an organizational culture of trust, mutual respect, and excellence.
  • Provide continuous feedback to UNM Health that addresses patient safety, quality of care, and patient service issues.
  • Address health disparities and equity in care in an increasing diverse patient population.
  • Strengthen communication and collaboration between patients, families, doctors, nurses, and other non-health professional staff.
  • Support in establishing UNM Health organizational priorities in response to patient, family, and community needs.

How to Join

Apply to join PFAC if you are a patient, family member of a patient, or someone who works in the UNM Health System. The term “family member” includes people related by blood or marriage, domestic partners, and close friends or neighbors who have a relationship with a patient.
