Personal Statement
My interests in pediatric medicine include working with children in foster care, teaching - both resident and medical student education, and pediatric advocacy on a community up to a state level. I am currently the medical director of the Healthy Beginnings clinic, which is a clinic that cares for children who are in foster care, with the goal of ensuring they receive all their routine well child care, have access to necessary subspecialists, all through the lens of a Trauma-Informed care approach to their medical care. I also serve as the block director for the pediatric residencys PARC rotation. The PARC rotation educates residents on pediatric advocacy from the community up to the federal level, and works to get them involved in their local community.
