Maria Heubeck, MD

Biography

I received a B.S. in Psychology (2010) from the University of New Mexico. I earned my Doctor of Medicine degree (2014) from the University of New Mexico. Following my MD degree, I completed a 3-year Pediatric residency at the University of New Mexico, followed by a 1-year pediatric chief resident position.

Personal Statement

Resident education has always been something that I have gravitated towards. My time as pediatric chief resident allowed me to grow in this area and solidify my love and dedication to teaching and our residents. During my first year as an attending, I took the role of Pediatric Inpatient Wards Rotation Director, which has allowed me to work more closely with the residents during their wards rotation, providing theme feedback and helping address any issues that come up. With the help of my rotation co-director we are developing a curriculum for inpatient wards education for the residents, which consists of cases-based presentation on common inpatient pediatric topics.
