Biography
Dr. Bouchonville is an associate professor at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. He serves as the medical director of the UNM Diabetes Comprehensive Care Center and the UNM Center for Diabetes and Nutrition Education. He is an associate director of Project ECHO and medical director of the Endocrinology ECHO program.
In 2014, Dr. Bouchonville launched the Endocrinology ECHO program to support health care professionals, working in medically underserved regions of New Mexico, implement best practices in managing complex diabetes cases. In his role as associate director, he joined the cancer initiative in 2019 and the COVID-19 initiative in 2020. He also supports New Mexico ECHO programs.
