The UNM Section on Child Safety provides expert medical care and social work services for survivors of child abuse and neglect through three programs:
Para Los Niños (PLN) Clinic for children with concerns of sexual abuse. (PLN partners with Albuquerque SANE to provide emergency care and evidence collection for children with concerns for acute sexual assault.)
Contact Us: Our clinic numbers are listed here. Medical providers can also reach a child abuse pediatrician during business hours via the UNM physician access line: 505-272-2000.
To report child abuse or neglect, call the New Mexico child abuse hotline at #SAFE or 855-333-7233. Please note that all healthcare providers, as well as other professionals who work with children, are required by New Mexico law to report suspected child abuse or neglect. Referring a child to one of the services listed here does not satisfy the requirement to report.
