Meaghan Carey Eiland, DNP, RN, CEN, CE-BC
SRMC Hospital Chief Executive
Meaghan Carey Eiland brings over 20 years of nursing experience—including 17 years in leadership—to her role as Hospital Chief Executive at UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center—A Campus of UNM Hospital (SRMC).
She began her healthcare journey in 2001 as an ER technician and EMT paramedic at UNM Hospital. Since then, she has held a variety of clinical and leadership roles across UNM Hospital, including nursing positions in the Medical ICU and Interventional Radiology. In 2018, she transitioned from Interim Executive Director to permanent Executive Director of Radiology, leading a team of more than 350 imaging professionals. Her oversight included inpatient, outpatient, procedural, and emergency radiological imaging and nursing services across the UNM Health System.
Carey Eiland holds four degrees from The University of New Mexico: a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Services, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing Administration, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice. She also maintains several professional certifications, including BLS, ACLS, CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse), and NE-BC (Nurse Executive–Board Certified).
Originally from northern New Mexico, she moved to Albuquerque in 1999 to pursue her education. Today, she lives in Rio Rancho with her husband and their son. Together, they enjoy outdoor adventures, competitive sports, music, and quality family time.

Nancy Santiesteban, MHA, RN
SRMC Associate Chief Nursing Officer
Nancy Santiesteban brings nearly 30 years of healthcare experience to her role as SRMC’s Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO). Prior to assuming this position, she held several key leadership roles at SRMC, including nine years as Director of Inpatient Services. In that capacity, she also served for three years as Director of Respiratory Therapy Services, where she led and collaborated with frontline teams to provide care for patients with varying acuity levels across Sandoval County.
Santiesteban began her healthcare career in 1995 in Gallup, New Mexico, at Rehoboth McKinley Christian Hospital (RMCH). Over the course of 20 years, she advanced through a wide range of roles—from medical records clerk to Chief Nursing Officer—demonstrating a strong commitment to professional growth and patient care excellence. In 2015, she served as Chief Nursing Executive at Presbyterian Española Hospital before joining SRMC in 2016.
She earned her Associate of Arts in Human Services and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of New Mexico, as well as a Master of Healthcare Administration from Independence University.
Throughout her career, Santiesteban has received numerous honors, including Manager of the Year at RMCH, the MVP Service Award at SRMC, and a nomination for the New Mexico Nursing Excellence Awards. In 2011, she was selected as a Nurse Manager Fellow with the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE). She is also an active member of the New Mexico Organization of Nurse Leaders.

Jennifer Torbaghan, MSN, RN
SRMC Executive Director of Ambulatory Services
Jennifer Torbaghan has been an integral part of the UNM Hospital team for nearly 20 years, serving in several leadership roles. Before becoming executive director of ambulatory services at SRMC in 2024, she was SRMC’s director of surgical specialty clinics.
Torbaghan’s career began in 2007 as a nurse at UNM Hospital in Albuquerque. In 2012, she joined SRMC as an inpatient charge nurse, working her way up to director of inpatient nursing. Torbaghan then moved to the UNM Hospital transfer center where she was a nurse manager. In 2020, she came back to SRMC as a quality consultant. A year later she was promoted to director of surgical specialty clinics then eventually to executive director of ambulatory services.
Torbaghan was born and raised in Colorado. She moved to New Mexico in 2003 to attend The University of New Mexico where she played rugby. She obtained both her Bachelor of Science in nursing and Master of Science in nursing administration from UNM.
Outside of work, Jenn likes to spend time with her husband and their son, Josh. She also coaches CrossFit, likes to go to concerts, spend time with family and travel.
