With Mi Via, you can make the choices best for your care. Get support in managing your own services to take control of your life.
Mi Via
Mi Via, which means “my path,” “my way” or “my road,” is designed to assist you in managing your own services and supports to live your best life. Mi Via is about choosing self-direction over your home and community-based services, support and goods within your approved plan and budget. Upon meeting medical and financial eligibility for Medicaid waiver services, a participant may choose Mi Via.
Mi Via and the CDD
UNM Center for Development and Disability (CDD) Mi Via Consultants program provides consultant services for Mi Via participants of all ages as they self-direct their plan for services and budget. Our Mi Via Consultants are experienced, knowledgeable and responsive. They are uniquely connected to other CDD resources and programs, including the Information Network and Library.
Our Consultants:
- Clearly explain the Mi Via process
- Connect you to community agencies and local resources
- Listen to your needs, find options and help you make informed decisions
- Provide guidance, support and assistance as you develop and implement your plan and budget
- Teach participants how to use the computer systems and complete paperwork
- Troubleshoot any issues that may come up with the participant
The CDD Mi Via Consultants program works in accordance with the mission of the CDD, which is the full inclusion of people with disabilities and their families in their community by engaging individuals in making life choices, partnering with communities to build resources and improving systems of care.
