Emotional and spiritual support is essential to wellbeing throughout an illness or injury. Get 24/7, nonjudgmental support from the UNM Pastoral Care team, regardless of faith or religious affiliation.

UNM Hospitals

UNM Health has established relationships with a network of religious and spiritual leaders. We can connect your family connect with pastoral support upon request.

Please ask the nurse on your care team to submit a request for pastoral care. For after hours emergencies, the nurse can contact the on-call chaplain to support you.

Chapels

The two chapels at UNM Hospital are always open:

  • Meditation Room: The Barbara and Bill Richardson Pavilion near the first-floor lobby hosts holiday services as announced.
  • Zimmerman Chapel: This main hospital, first floor chapel hosts Mass every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.

The UNMH chaplain priest is available Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Lay eucharistic ministers volunteer seven days a week to provide spiritual support throughout the hospital.

UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center

Volunteer chaplains at SRMC are available to help you cope with illness and loss. Please contact Guest Services at 505-994-7460 for information or questions.

Chapel

Visit the chapel at any time of day or night when you need a quiet moment to pray or reflect. The chapel is located on the 1st floor of the hospital, to the left of the main entrance.
