Biography

Evelyn Lockhart received a B.S. degree summa cum laude in Biology (1993) from Virginia Tech. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree (2001) from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following her MD degree, she completed an anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Duke University, followed by a two-year fellowship in transfusion medicine at Puget Sound Blood Center/University of Washington. Lastly, she completed a two-year Master of Science degree in biomedical communication (MScBMC) at University of Toronto.

Personal Statement

My primary area of clinical and research interest lies in maternal-fetal transfusion medicine and women with hemostatic disorders, particularly patient blood management in women experiencing obstetric hemorrhage. My primary area of educational interest is in visual communication for medical education. I recently completed my MScBMC degree at the University of Toronto where my master's thesis project explored using the Animation Processing Model for developing didactic animations for medical students.
