Spiritual Care

It can be difficult caring for a sick child—physically, mentally and emotionally. When you need a moment to clear your mind, pray or talk to someone, the UNM Children’s pastoral care team is here for you. We offer 24/7 confidential spiritual and emotional support, regardless of your faith background.

Spiritual Care for Your Family

The UNM Hospital Pastoral Care Department provides access to spiritual care as part of our family-centered, team approach to patient care. Our services are available to families, patients, staff and volunteers.

It is our goal to link patients and families with their religious traditions and spiritual resources. Upon request, a chaplain will call a family's specific Community Faith Representative to provide desired support.

The two chapels at UNM Hospital are open 24/7:

  • Zimmerman Chapel, main hospital, first floor– Hosts Mass every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.
  • Meditation Room, Barbara and Bill Richardson Pavilion near the first-floor lobby– Hosts holiday services as announced.
